Your Christmas story should either begin or end with the following sentence:
The silence felt awkward in the empty street as the mouse made its way through the snow.
Write your 400-500 word story in any genre-crime, mystery, fantasy, romance, horror, science fiction etc. The text should be in Times New Roman, 12 point, 1 1/2 spaced.
The deadline is on Thursday,21 December, 2017.
Mail your competition entries to: highschool@meridian22.org as an attachment (Word- .doc, .docx). Subject: Christmas short story contest 2017. The message of your email should include the title of your story, your name and class. Your names won't be disclosed to the awarding committee before the selection of the winners.
Do not send your stories to your English teacher!
The prizes will be awarded at the Christmas party by Santa, the elves, Rudolph and many other helpers.
